Established in 1978 by Barry Thundercliffe, the name is derived from Barry and his two sons Mark and Andrew. Since 1990, the shop has been run by Mark and his mother Jane. We have built upon the foundation of sourcing top quality locally produced meats and selling them at a fair price. The shop is proud to be an EBLEX Approved retailer assuring the customer that all the beef sold is of the highest standards. All the poultry is sourced from local farms, as in the pork which is stamped English Quality Assured. The shop has seen many changes to the avenue and owes its success to the people that come back week in week out in all weathers.

“The outlet was very clean and tidy and set out in a market stall fashion. Bargain offers were set out on stalls in a traditional manner. There were good and largely stocked displays. Products were all fresh and looked good quality. The staff member was well presented, wearing a traditional butcher’s apron. He was polite, helpful and efficient, and had very good product knowledge”.
