We’d like to tell you how very excited we are after finding out that Love Local wanted us to join in the party down Newland Avenue. Well, we’ve been here for a few years now but we don’t mind sharing ourselves with the rest of the world- Hello World!
We opened The Fringe in October 2007 and really loved designing the place from scratch. It also meant we could go shopping for the chandeliers and we had great fun shopping for the furniture. Anyway I digress; it’s people! People is what we are about -every different kind of people you can imagine, we get them all in. This is down to our really diverse staff, we’ve got everyone from funky youngsters through to sophisticated older ones who’ve been there and done it all, (and some of them still are doing it but that’s a different story). We’ve even got our own reality TV star (they get everywhere these days. Even Newland Ave!)
We love doing hair so much we can’t help it, even when we see people out in bars or clubs we get asked to help them with their hair.
We do everything from weddings and fashion shoots, to runway shows and magazine work, (not to mention the special red carpet events we get asked to style!). All of this inspiration then makes its way through our hands and into the fabulous individuals we get coming in for hair cuts and colours everyday.
Our colours are amazing; they’ve got light reflective particles in them and amino acids (and other stuff that hair loves) that make your hair shinier.
As if this wasn’t enough, we offer courses at our training school to teach other hairdressers who want to learn how to do all this too.
Then there’s the beauty side of things: nails, waxing, eyebrow shaping, the ancient eastern art of threading, facials, massages (the full kit and caboodle really). We’re a one-stop, non-stop full body shop.
Because of this we get people coming in for whole pamper days, (you know, if they’re going somewhere special or if it’s their birthday. We love doing that; complete transformations are always good for the soul - like your mum’s cooking). We think this is why we get people coming from all over to see us (our services that is, not our mum’s cooking).

“Staff looked very smart, mostly wearing black. The salon was very clean, with no clutter. I was asked what I would like, and talked through the haircut. All staff members were extremely friendly and smiled all the time. Tara, explained everything, she was very friendly and gave an excellent service. She made me feel at home, and did a superb job of my hair. After the treatment had finished, she fetched my coat and helped me put it on, always smiling. The staff members were so friendly and welcoming, they really made me feel at home, Tara asked a number of times if I was OK and comfortable, always explaining what she was doing right through the treatment.”
